Mira is studying at CEU this year thanks to the supporters of the Alumni Scholarship, next|generation

In her own words:

I am a B.Sc. Environmental Science graduate from Tribhuvan University, Nepal. Understanding and exploring the link between environment and society is my lifelong passion, inspiring me to pursue a career in this field.

As an undergraduate, I volunteered at Nepalese Youth for Climate Action (NYCA), advocating climate change related issues among youth and local communities. I also worked as a research volunteer at The Small Earth Nepal (SEN), analyzing the water quality of Bagmati River and its tributaries. I also worked as a research assistant at International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD), studying the water supply scenario of Nepal’s Lalitpur district.

Nepal is greatly affected by human-induced environmental issues like climate change and global warming. Government policies have not been very effective to address the issues and bring positive changes.

At CEU I hope to acquire the knowledge to bridge the gap between policymaking and execution. I’m very thankful to the alumni donors for making my study possible.
