Palden is studying at CEU this year, thanks to the supporters of the CEU Alumni Scholarship.
In her own words:
Before CEU I earned an International Relations MA at India’s Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, and also did volunteer work in Dharamsala.
The study of International Relations has captured my imagination. As a displaced Tibetan refugee, I often ask basic questions about the cause of my uprooting, which leads me to engage with questions regarding the idea of nation, state, power, economic factors, citizenship, and international law. International Relations provided deeper insights and helped me understand more clearly.
After graduation I would like to work in the NGO sector, and to do a PhD in International Relations; offering temporary comfort to refugees is good idea but to eliminate the root causes of these problems is best.
I’m extremely grateful to the alumni donors, for their noble contributions to my studies. Thank you all!
