Alumni: Help Prepare CEU’s Next Generation

Hundreds of students around the world are about to leave home to study at CEU. Who better to prepare them for what lays ahead than CEU alumni?

Academic year 2019-20 will be like none other and it’s literally weeks away. Students this year will get the opportunity to study on two campuses, in Vienna and Budapest. In preparation CEU alumni chapters on six continents are hosting Pre-Departure Orientations to help newly-accepted students prepare for CEU life. (See upcoming PDOs below.)

Students Give Back Via Graduating Class Gift

Students raised hundreds of dollars in support of CEU during last month’s 2019 Graduating Class Gift campaign.

Several dozen students contributed, including Alumni Scholarship Recipients like Samten Yeshi (MEDS ’19, Bhutan) [pictured, left] who generously gifted his entire student deposit – 200 Euros - to the drive.

CEU Alumna Nkonge to Lead Katiba Institute

Interview: Polish Ombudsman, CEU Alumni Speaker

Polish Ombudsman and CEU alumnus Adam Bodnar (LEGS ’01) took to the podium as Alumni Speaker at CEU graduation, on Monday, June 24. The CEU Alumni team caught up with him beforehand to talk work, human rights, his student days and the power of CEU. See below for what he had to say.

Alumnus Atakishiyev Passes

We are saddened to report the recent passing of CEU alumnus Aydin Atakishiyev (ECON ’06, Azerbaijan) after a long illness. He was 38 years old.

A veteran of the Azeri banking sector, Aydin was formerly a member of the Executive Board of PASHA Bank OJSC. He also worked as freelance trainer and consultant.

Well-known to his fellow alumni from Azerbaijan, Aydin will be missed. Our most heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, colleagues and classmates.
