Jani is studying at CEU this year, thanks to the CEU Alumni Scholarship.
In his own words:
Before CEU I completed my BA in Hungarian language and culture at the University of Helsinki. As a minor I studied Finno-Ugric linguistics and I’ve been volunteering in projects promoting Finno-Ugric minorities. In 2016, I volunteered in the Finno-Ugric Cultural Capital project in the Hungarian village of Iszkaszentgyörgy, not far from Budapest, having the honour of serving as ambassador of the project for three months.
So far, I’ve mostly studied linguistics, but now I wish to broaden my expertise. I think Nationalism Studies at CEU provides me the best possibility for this. Seek an international career as an expert on minorities and the intertwining of ethnical and linguistic issues. The Alumni Scholarship gives me the opportunity to obtain valuable experience and develop myself in professionally and personally.
I am sincerely grateful to CEU’s alumni donors for offering this great possibility!
Jani has also written a piece on Talking about Love and Chairs after an enaging presentation by CEU alumna and relationship expert Madina Demirbash (GENS '12).
