First-Ever CEU Pub Quiz Packs House

December 8, 2017

Q: What’s another word for the Chinese Gooseberry?

We didn’t know either, but someone got it right at CEU’s first-ever Philanthropy Pub Quiz, on December 1. Part of Philanthropy Week, this boisterous trivia showdown drew nearly 100 students, alumni, faculty and staff to Nador 15 to match wits, enjoy a brew – and support two great causes. (Photos below)

Twenty teams, with names like “Cogstipation” and “The Bald and the Beautiful,” battled for several categorized rounds. By night’s end, participants not only learned how many countries the Danube flows through but also – thanks, bonus point competition - which of their fellows can self-contort, impersonate wailing infants or dance like freaks.

More importantly: they also raised approximately 90,000 HUF ($338) in support of the CEU Alumni Scholarship and the Kisci Pakk Initiative, which provides Christmas presents for needy children.

The pub quiz was organized by the Student Philanthropy Council and the Alumni Relations office. Thanks to everyone for making this a night to remember.
