Angela Patricia Heredia Pineda (GENS '19, Colombia)
Angela studied philosophy and history at Los Andes University in Bogota, and has long been involved in education, working as a tutor, research assistant and a teacher. “I tried to cultivate in my students the use of social studies as a way to understand the roots of our way of life,” she said “and encourage them to change their lives and the world.”
What’s your goal in life?
Through teaching, research and writing, I want to encourage people and myself to be agents of change.
Why Gender Studies at CEU?
Because I’ve learned that gender divisions, hierarchies and discrimination deeply shape who we are. I’m committed to the understanding of how historical processes have shaped the lives of women around the world.
What do you want to gain from CEU?
I hope to be in an environment that allows me to learn from others, discuss my ideas, and follow my passion for knowledge, writing and education.
