Carol Stephan (SPP ’19, Canada)
A Canadian Jordanian, Carol works with human rights and social justice organizations, including the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Amman. Before that, she interned at the UN Division for Palestinian Rights at the United Nations Headquarters in New York and the Social Justice Connection in Montreal.
What’s your life’s goal?
To work towards coexistence and live in harmony and peace.
Why study public policy?
To promote reconciliation and work on policies addressing the threats of violent conflict, gender based violence and terrorism. This will open up greater career opportunities in the intergovernmental or governmental sectors that tackle such policies.
What do you hope to gain at CEU?
To meet people from diverse backgrounds and obtain a solid unique degree that would offer me the chance to continue my work in the intergovernmental and governmental fields.
