Nora is from Cairo, Egypt. She studied Linguistics at Ain Shams University in Egypt and has worked for numerous NGOs and human rights entities in different countries regarding bodily and sexual freedoms, LGBTQ+ rights, feminist issues and refugee rights. In 2020 she founded a legal research institute, Cairo 52. At CEU she will pursue an MA in Human Rights.
What’s your goal in life?
To give under-represented communities in the world a fighting chance to defend themselves through international human rights remedies.
Why did you choose this particular course of study?
As I have the practical experience in the field of human rights, it only made sense for me to advance my career and life goals by obtaining the academia to back my experience.
What do you hope to gain from your time at CEU?
To gain access to prestigious network of people whether from CEU alumni, students or staff and to increase my knowledge of international human rights mechanisms.
