Elizaveta Vakatova (Russia, LEGS '23)

October 13, 2022

Elizaveta recently graduated from Higher School of Economics in Moscow, Russia, with a Bachelor of Law. For the last couple of years she has combined research jobs at her university and volunteer work in human rights. This year she is studying human rights law at CEU.

What is your goal in life?

To become an international human rights expert and defender, while continuing research and teaching: I want my work to be valuable for the community.

Why did you choose your course of study?

Human rights law has been my area of interest for the last couple of years: I worked, volunteered and sought every opportunity to learn. While finishing my bachelor’s studies, I understood that I want to go  further and get a deeper expertise, so I decided to apply for the human rights law master's program at CEU.

What do you hope to gain from your time at CEU?

My main hopes for this year at CEU are to broaden my perspective, learn from the best international professionals and become an active part of the student (and alumni) community.
