Alumnus Bekbolotov Passes

January 3, 2019

CEU alumnus Ilyas Bekbolotov (IRES ’96) passed away on December 26, 2018, after a long illness.

A citizen of Kyrgyzstan, Ilyas worked as a translator, a press secretary and from 2002 to 2005 as Head of Protocol for the administration of former Kyrgyz President Askar Akayev.

He is survived by a wife and daughter. Our deepest condolences to Ilyas’s family, friends and fellow alumni.

Alumni Host Global #ThankYouCEU Meet-ups

Alumni on three continents came together last week in support of their university during the #ThankYouCEU Alumni Meet-ups.

Part of CEU Philanthropy Week (Nov. 26-30), these special gatherings took place in ten cities worldwide, offering alumni a chance to reconnect with their classmates and demonstrate the strength and commitment of the community.

Philanthropy Week Closes with Record Donation

Alumni around the world joined forces to say #ThankYouCEU and raise a record amount in support of the university during this year’s #CEUPhilanthropyWeek.

From November 26 to 30, alumni contributed to the future of this institution, via global alumni meet-ups, on-campus events, including a special Alumni Donors Reception (SEE PHOTOS), and an online campaign. Thank you, donors!

#ThankYouCEU: Alumni Chapter Meet-ups Worldwide

CEU alumni around the world are joining forces to celebrate the power of community, gratitude and giving back during #CEUPhilanthropyWeek.

From November 26 to 30, nine alumni chapters - in Europe, Asia and New York City - are hosting special #ThankYouCEU Meet-ups to coincide with the university’s second-annual philanthropy event.

Open Mic 2018 Bigger Than Ever

What a night! Approximately 100 students, alumni and staff packed CEU’s Oktober Hall on Thursday, Nov. 15 for some great live performances during Open Mic 2018. It was the largest turnout in the program’s five year history. SEE PICS.
