Zainab Najeeb (GENS '18, Pakistan)

October 5, 2017

Zainab is studying at CEU this year, thanks to the CEU Alumni Scholarship.

In her own words:

In 2014 I earned a degree in English Literature from Lahore’s Kinnaird College. Since then I’ve worked as a digital media and content strategist for a thriving e-commerce startup.

My internship at the prestigious Dawn News, plus volunteer activities like raising funds for the Internally Displaced People (IDPs) have motivated me to give a voice to the voiceless.

The Feminist struggle, to me, is inescapable and indispensable especially regarding societies as traditional as Pakistan’s. My goal is to enable women from all walks of life to dream big and to be recognized as a force in the international context.

I’m grateful to the CEU Alumni Community for giving me a coveted platform where I can be heard, with the potential of propagating the “gender lens” in matters of national and international importance. Thank you, donors!

Zainab also participated in the annual CEU Phonathon Campaign. Read her blog entry Behind the Scenes of the CEU Phonathon to learn more about what it means to be a student caller.
