Alumni talks at CEU: successful presentation on careers in academia by CEU Nationalism Studies alumnus
On January 25, 2011, CEU alumnus Alexander Maxwell (NATI 1999) delivered a very well-received presentation, open to CEU students, alumni, faculty and staff, on campus.
About the presentation:
The academic job market is extremely competitive in all countries, and in the Anglophone world, academic jobs in some disciplines attract as many as 100 applicants. Candidates who wish to succeed in this job market may find it useful to understand what search committees look for. This talk will discuss various ways emerging scholars can professionalize themselves. There will be a brief presentation about the various Anglophone job markets, concentrating particularly on the United Kingdom. Afterwards, there will be plenty of time for questions and answers.
