On December 7, 2011, CEU President and Rector John Shattuck visited Washington, D.C. for our last alumni reunion event in the city for CEU's 20th anniversary. Nearly 50 alumni and friends joined us to celebrate this exceptional year for the university. Guests had the chance to talk to the Rector personally, exchange ideas about the future of the global CEU community and network with friends and professionals from the region.

Other special guests at the event were Ambassador György Szapáry of the Hungarian Embassy in Washington, DC, and Wolfgang Reinicke, Dean of CEU School of Public Policy & International Affairs. They delivered short talks, where the Dean shared his vision for the CEU School of Public Policy & International Affairs, founded in 2011. After the speeches, the floor was opened up for questions and the guests got to grab the microphone and share some highlights of their lives after CEU.

A number of alumni and friends there also made gifts to the CEU Alumni Campaign, in support of student scholarships at CEU and the sustainable growth of the university. These donations have brought us that much closer to achieving our 20th anniversary alumni fundraising target of USD 100,000. Thank you!
