Inspired by the "green" sustainability theme of the 2012 "Baobab Leaves" Alumni Campaign, alumni volunteers in the CEU Alumni Chapter in Kazakhstan took the initiative to organize a number of truly impacting grassroots projects designed to help their local environment and make a positive contribution to their community.
The first of these projects was a campaign to collect clothes, books, toys and other much-needed goods for the victims of human trafficking residing in a shelter in Astana, Kazakhstan. An inspirational, and unique project for CEU alumni chapters, this donation campaign serves as an example of how important and how doable making a difference is.
For more information about the drive, please contact the alumni chapter leader in Astana, Dilyara Teshebaeva (IRES '08, email) or visit the shelter's webpage.
