Ukraine joins top 5 most philanthropically active alumni chapters after outstanding donations to CEU at Kyiv reunion, May 31, 2012
Nearly 70 alumni and friends joined CEU President and Rector John Shattuck at the Hungarian Embassy in Kyiv, Ukraine on May 31, 2012. Always an excellent chance for alumni to catch up and network with CEU partners and friends in the region, this reunion was a great success both socially and in terms of fundraising for student scholarships and the sustainable wellbeing of the university.
More than 50% of participants of the event made donations and pledges to the 2012 CEU Alumni Campaign, amounting to more than 1,000 USD. This outstanding support helped Ukraine climb up to the top 5 most philanthropically active CEU alumni chapters in the world. Please find the names of our supporters on the Alumni Donors list.
In addition to keynote speeches by the CEU President and Hungarian Ambassador Mihály Bayer, an open-floor talk about what was new in the lives of alumni in Kyiv, singing of Ukrainian songs and an overall wonderful time, the event also featured an exclusive screening of ceu20 (short version), CEU's 20th anniversary film produced by award-winning filmmaker Peter Almond.
