In 2011, fifteen alumni representing the CEU Alumni Chapter in Belarus initiated a volunteer-driven fundraising campaign which resulted in the successful establishment of the Vitali Silitski Supplementary Scholarship at CEU in memory of the late CEU alumnus and distinguished Belarusian scholar.

The scholarship in the amount of 750 USD (or more, depending on the success of the campaign) per annum is intended to be awarded to one outstanding Belarusian student of CEU every year.

We are pleased to announce that the first recipient of the scholarship has been two-year student Tatiana Kliatskova (ECON '13), who received the scholarship in the 2011-12 academic year. Tatiana's academic interest lies in the economic policies of global markets. In her own words:

Studying at CEU is a great honor and a big challenge for me. Here I am getting priceless knowledge that I feel sure I will be able to apply in my future career. I am grateful to all donors of the [Vitali] Silitski Scholarship for their investment into my development potential. I hope to justify your expectations and I promise to become a responsible member of CEU Belarusian community. Thank you!  - Tatiana Kliatskova (Belarus, ECON '13)

In light of the inspiring volunteer participation that has made the scholarship possible, the CEU Alumni Chapter in Belarus and the Alumni Relations & Career Services office will continue to work together to perpetuate the Vitali Silitski fundraising campaign as part of the annual CEU Alumni Campaign.
