July 3, 2012

We are deeply saddened to announce the tragic and untimely passing of CEU alumna Erica Lane-Tamuza (USA, LEGS 2003), wife of fellow alumnus Kristaps Tamuzs (Latvia, LEGS 2003), on June 1, 2012 in the Hague, Netherlands.

Erica was a beloved spouse, mother, daughter, sister and friend. She was a graduate of CEU's Legal Studies program, as well as The Ellis School of Georgetown University and The University of Pittsburgh Law School. Until her untimely passing, she worked as a legal officer with the United Nations Special Tribunal for Lebanon, based in The Hague.

Friends, classmates, professors and others wishing to express their condolences to the family may sign the guestbook in Erica's obituary, published on Legacy.com.

Erica Lane-Tamuza Memorial Fund at CEU

By the thoughtful request of Erica's parents, Eileen and Nicholas Lane, and her husband Kristaps, CEU has established a memorial fund, where Erica's friends and colleagues may consider making contributions in her memory to student scholarships at CEU or to the university's areas of greatest need.

Please consider making a donation to any one of CEU's alumni giving funds as a most meaningful way to honor Erica's memory and make a difference in the lives of our students. If you choose to donate via PayPal or CEU's secure online giving form, please enter "Erica Lane-Tamuza Memorial Fund" in the designated "Comment" field. Please note that Erica's family has asked to be informed of all the gifts being dedicated to this fund.
