New Budapest Alumni Club starting in February

February 5, 2013

Alumni leaders in Budapest are launching a new club for CEU graduates this month, in order to expand and diversify tradiational ‘alumni’ fare.

The new Budapest Alumni Club will host monthly events, both on and off campus, featuring guest speakers, lecturers, intellectual games and other fun events.

The first event is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, February 28, at CEU’s Nador 13 campus. All CEU alumni in Budapest are invited.

It will feature an interactive workshop hosted by Maja Nenadovic (POLS ’03)on creating an anti-gossip work environment.

It will be followed by live music performed by some of this year’s Alumni Scholarship Recipients, plus wine and pogacha.

Club co-founder Aigi Kurman (BUSI ’11) said the club is a meant to ‘resuscitate’ the somewhat atomized alumni community in Budapest, and to bring people together for fun, diverse events beyond the typical networking style events.

The club could be of particular value to expat CEU alumni still living in Budapest, providing them a venue to meet and share experiences, founders say.

Potential future events include a poetry night, a spring ball, a Budapest city tour, a summer picnic and more.

All local and/or visiting CEU alumni are welcome. For more information, write Aigi or Judit.
