CEU Alumni and Friends in Mongolia have had a busy spring, launching a number of projects including aid to a children’s home, planning environmental stewardship hikes and others.

Earlier this month several alumni traveled to the Erdem Center, a home for vulnerable children in Ulan Bator. The old Soviet-era building is home to 30 school-age kids removed by the authorities from unfavorable situations such as neglect or alcoholism. The center is run by primarily by volunteers and its funding is sporadic.

The Mongolian alumni team brought school supplies, books and treats for the children and played games with them. They are currently exploring ways to assist the children, particularly in terms of their education.

The group is also planning a hike to the Bogd Khaan Mountain to clean up rubbish left there. Great work, guys!

For more information on the group’s activities, check their new blog or Facebook page.
