Taking alumni philanthropy to the next level

June 11, 2014

Can you say “benchmark”?

We’re only six months in, and already 2014 has been a fantastic year for alumni philanthropy at CEU. The university's alumni and friends have raised more than $47,000 this year alone for the Alumni Campaign, ceu|next. Our goal is to raise $1 million in support of student scholarships, departmental aid, campus redevelopment and more. (Check the stats here and here.)

The latter is especially relevant, as CEU is only weeks away from groundbreaking on its Campus Redevelopment campaign. Nador 15 is getting a major makeover, and when it’s done the building will host CEU’s new library, auditorium, café and more.

By making a gift, you’re making a statement endorsing CEU, and putting a stake in its future. Please consider making your gift today.

Again, we’re deeply grateful to CEU alumni and friends for making this year a great one so far. Some highlights:

• During this May’s Alumni Leadership Forum (May 8-9), CEU President and Rector John Shattuck unveiled a replica plaque commemorating last year’s Half Million Campaign. The original was presented to CEU Founder George Soros.

• This year’s Alumni Spring Phonathon callers reached nearly 2,000 CEU alumni around the world, who pledged nearly $24,000 in support of their alma mater.

• Last month, for the second time this academic year, students and alumni met on campus to support the next generation of CEU students. Details here.
