Saif is from Pakistan. He is studying at CEU thanks to the Alumni Scholarship, next|generation.

In his own words:

My province of Balochistan is home to terrorism, separatist movements, tribal warfare, a ruthless patriarchy and extremely poor education. In the face of these odds, I gradated, Cum Laude, from Forman Christian College, Pakistan, in Sociology and Philosophy.

Working with people from diverse backgrounds, my university experience helped me to shun parochialism and committed me to the motto of the college: by love serve one another.

I worked as a research assistant for a Humboldt University Professor in Pakistan, as well as with various NGOs defending the rights of women, minorities and indigent prisoners. I also volunteered to assist in production of the Brave New Films documentary “Unmanned: America’s Drone Wars,” which drew attention to the unlawful killing by drones that fomented protests in Pakistan, the U.K., the U.S. and elsewhere.

I’m ecstatic to join CEU’s international community, to experience life in and around Hungary, and to enter academia when back in my country. I am very much indebted to the CEU alumni for this opportunity.
