Zoe is from the United States of America. She is studying at CEU thanks to the Alumni Scholarship, next|generation.

In her own words:

I graduated from Tulane University, in New Orleans, with a BA in English and Political Science. At CEU I’ll be studying Philosophy with an emphasis on Political Philosophy and Ethics.

As an undergraduate, I became acutely aware of inequality as a far-reaching socio-politco and philosophical dilemma. I worked as a tutor and supervisor for Tulane After School Enrichment, a free mentoring program for low income elementary and middle school students. I also interned for the New Orleans Criminal Court and the New Orleans branch of NO/AIDS.

After studying in Norway, I became interested in how political systems address social inequality and injustice, which partially led me to move to Hungary. I have lived here for the past two years, teaching at a Montessori school and studying the Hungarian language.

Receiving the Alumni Scholarship will assist me in reaching my goals of earning a PhD and working in a university environment. I wish to extend my thanks to the alumni donors for making this possible.
