Moldovan president honors CEU alum for aid work

CEU alumnus Sergiu Botezatu (ECON ’94) was recently honored for his civilian aid and development work in his native Moldova. On Nov. 27 he was presented with the Meritul Civic medal by the President of the Republic of Moldova, Nicolae Timofti, in recognition for his work with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

Sergiu has served as a Senior Project Management Specialist for USAID for nearly 14 years, and is also a supporter of the CEU Alumni Campaign. Awarded alongside USAID Moldova Country Director Kent Larson, Sergiu cited the award as a "recognition of USAID team professionalism and dedication."
