New student recruitment at CEU is up, thanks in part to alumni!
CEU alumni and local area coordinators, as well as academic departments and students were credited with contributing to the increase in recruitment numbers this year.
At the end of the first application cycle, the Student Recruitment Office reports a significant rise in the number of applications to CEU’s master’s and doctoral programs. The number of applications and applicants has risen by nearly 30% compared to the final figures from last year.
Prospective students come from 142 countries (compared to 125 in 2013-2014). By 2015, CEU has managed to multiply its reach in most geographic regions: the number of applications from the EU and the CEU’s traditional region increased by 18%, North America by 6%, Asia by 30%, Latin America and Caribbean by 39%, and Africa and the Middle East by 76%.
Beyond CEU’s main application deadline of February 1, 2015, most programs have additional application deadlines (April 1 for tuition scholarship applicants and June 1 for self-financing applicants). Thus, the Student Recruitment Office expects to see a further increase until the final deadline of June 1, 2015.
