We are saddened to report the sudden and tragic passing of our colleague and fellow CEU alumna dr Judit Gergely (IMC ‘89) on Wednesday, September 16.

Judit,  PhD Coordinator at the CEU Department of History, learned of her illness only one month prior, and with her positive and courageous spirit fought valiantly to the end.

Judit was a beloved and respected member of the CEU community for nearly two decades. In addition to serving as a Department Coordinator, she was instrumental in establishing CEU's Human Resources Office and served as its first Director, among many other achievements.

Judit was an outgoing and enthusiastic colleague, earning the appreciation and affection of students, faculty and staff. She will be greatly missed.

A memorial service for Judit is planned for 09:45 Tuesday, Sept. 29 in the Makovecz Hall of Budapest's Farkasréti Cemetery. Those wishing to attend are welcome, but asked to bring only single flower. Those wishing to send a message of condolence to Judit's family may do so here
