What a turnout! More than 15 CEU alumni showed up for the launch of Department of Legal Studies Professor Tibor Varady’s new book on the evening of Tuesday, April 5 in Zagreb.
Held at the Hungarian Cultural Center (‘Institute Balassi Zagreb’) the event spotlighted “Files and People: Tales from the Bar Archives” (SPISI I LJUDI - Priče iz advokatske arhive), Professor Varady’s account of the inhabitants of Nagybecskerek / Zrenjanin in Vojvodina, Serbia. The book is based on archival materials from the law firm owned by the professor’s father and grandfather.
The event drew more than 60 attendees total and was organized by CEU alumnus Davor Babić (IBL LL.M. '99), CEU visiting scholar and professor at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Law.
