What a night!
More than 70 CEU alumni and friends celebrated their University's silver jubilee in style at a very special 25th Anniversary Alumni Reception in New York City on Tuesday, June 7. (See below for photos.)
Held at the Hungarian Consulate in Manhattan, the event featured outgoing CEU President and Rector John Shattuck's final address to an alumni audience, during which time he lauded the University and its global alumni community.
Other highlights included a special greeting from Consul General of Hungary Ferenc Kumin (POLS '01), presentation of the Alumni Impact Award to Szilard Benk (ECON '02, '09), and recognition of local Alumni Chapter Leader Cristina St. Juste (IRES '07) who is stepping down and will be succeeded by two new chapter leaders Angelina Pienczykowski (IRES '14) and Ilona Polyak (BUSI '10).
In addition to socializing and networking, the event also included a strong fundraising element, with alumni pledging more than $1,000 in support of CEUnext, the University's 25th Anniversary Alumni Campaign, which is nearly within reach of its goal of raising $1 million by the end of this year.
