Raluca Alexandra Prună (POLS '98) has served as Romania's Minister of Justice since November 2015. She is the second CEU alumna to hold the post, after alumna and CEU Board of Trustees Member Monica Macovei (LEGS '93), who served from 2004 to 2007.
Prior to her appointment, Raluca served in numerous unit leadership roles within the European Commission, dealing with topics including organized crime, surveillance, migration flows and free movement of goods and others.
Raluca is a founding member and former legal advisor of Transparency International Romania, and a former Chairwoman of its Ethics Committee. She has also served as a lawyer for the European Council and the Bucharest Bar Association, and a parliamentary assistant in the European Parliament.
