CEU’s alumni chapter in New York City has done it again!
Nearly 60 alumni and friends attended the annual CEU Alumni Reception in NYC on Thursday, March 16 at the Hungarian Consulate in Manhattan. (See photos below.)
The reception featured CEU President and Rector Michael Ignatieff, who thanked alumni for their efforts promoting the university and serving as volunteers, mentors and campaign donors.
The president also shared highlights of his new strategic plan for CEU, which includes academic renewal and achieving financial sustainability. Following an alumni networking session, the president took audience questions regarding everything from the reshaping of business education to community engagement and more.
Other highlights included a special greeting from the event’s host, Consul General of Hungary (and CEU alum) Ferenc Kumin (POLS '01), and recognition of local Alumni Chapter Leaders Ilona Polyak (BUSI '10) and Angelina Pienczykowski (IRES '14).
Continuing a CEU tradition, the gathering drew a lively group of loyal alumni and proved a great opportunity for them to hear directly from President Ignatieff about their university. It also served as a good primer for those possibly attending this year’s Alumni Reception & Party in Budapest in May, and also provided an opportunity to support CEU’s future by pledging to the Alumni Campaign, CEUimpact.
Thanks to all alumni and friends for making this another great CEU event in NYC!
