CEU Alumnae Appointed Kyrgyz PM’s Advisers

CEU alumnae Bermet Tursunkulova (IRES’99), left, and Yulia Kalinichenko (IRES’13), right, were recently appointed as advisors to Kyrgyz Prime Minister Sooronbay Jeenbekov. 

A former CEU alumni chapter leader, Bermet graduated from the International University of Kyrgyzstan, and received a master’s degree from CEU in International Relations and European Studies. She has a PhD in Political Science from the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavonic University. Previously, she served as Vice President of the American University of Central Asia for Academic Affairs, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, and Deputy Director of the Civic Education Project (CEP) — Central Asia and Mongolia program

Yulia graduated from the American University of Central Asia and holds a master’s degree in International Relations and European Studies from CEU. Previously, she worked as Project Manager of the Institute of Special Nutrition (Moscow), Head of the International Relations and Organizational Department of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, and coordinator of the National Institute for Strategic Studies and Projects of the Tian-Shan Analytical Center at the American University in Central Asia.
