Alumni Reception in London Looks to Future
CEU alumni in the U.K. are some of the university’s most engaged. How do we know? Because this year’s annual London Alumni Reception was one for the books.
Nearly 50 alumni and friends gathered at University College London on Thursday, April 26 to discuss the future of CEU - and its fight for academic freedom - with President and Rector Michael Ignatieff himself. SEE EVENT PICS.
Discussion focused on the university’s response to LexCEU and its planned satellite campus in Vienna. The Rector also spoke of the importance of alumni supporting the university’s future, in any amount, via the Alumni Campaign.
A networking session followed, moderated by CEU ALumni Relations Head Nena Grceva (GENS '05), and aftewards a reception with authentic Hungarian wine and snacks.
The reception drew a great cross-section of alumni, including graduates of 19 classes and 12 academic departments as well as alumni volunteers and major campaign contributors. Special thanks to Bojan Aleksov (MA '99, PhD '05) and Olga Mun (NATI ’15) for helping with the event!
As one often does at parties, several alumni said they’d like to get together more often. That sounds good to us. To make that happen, local alums need an energetic and enthusiastic chapter leader. Does that sound like you? If so, write Dursun for details.
Thanks to everyone for the great night!
