Alumni, Rector Meet at NYC Reception
Nearly 60 CEU alumni and friends met with President and Rector Michael Ignatieff at a special reunion at the Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs in New York City last month, the largest of its kind in two years. See photos.
The March 28 event featured an in-depth discussion between the rector and guests regarding the university’s recent challenges and its newly-unveiled Vienna campus, opening this September.
Guests included graduates from 1989 to the present day, as well as current students, from the Department of International Relations at CEU’s Bard College campus.
Several alumni spoke in defense of the university and expressed their desire to advocate for CEU. Others pledged gifts to the Alumni Campaign, which helps provide scholarships for CEU students and aid for academic units.
Sincere thanks to the Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs for hosting our first event there, and to CCEIA President Joel Rosenthal for the warm welcome. Thanks also to all our fellow CEU alumni, friends and students who made this annual President's NYC reception a great one. Special thanks to our local chapter leaders Bea Polyak (BUSI '10) and Angelina Pienczykowski (IRES '14) for helping organize the event!
