It was high time to catch up. And on Thursday, May 30 CEU alumni and friends held their first meetup in Ljubljana, Slovenia in a decade!
Ten CEU alumni met at Ljubljana’s Pritličje bar and cultural center – and talked for nearly four hours straight! Things got nostalgic, with stories of student days and parties – and readings of Foucault – as well as stories of post CEU life and talk of the future, including CEU’s move to Vienna.
Hosted by CEU alumna and Alumni Relations Head Nena Grceva (GENS ’05), the meetup drew graduates from several departments and graduating classes, and one CEU couple! All attendees have been instrumental in advocating for CEU and the #IStandWithCEU campaign, and appeared determined to continue supporting their alma mater.
The meetup’s warm atmosphere showcased the strong bond alumni still feel for our university, and the effect it’s had on their lives. One alumnus proudly showed the CEU alumni card he’s carried in his wallet since the turn of the millennium.
Thanks to everyone for showing up and making this such a great meetup.
