Hugs, laughter, gratitude and memories wove through the Alumni Reunion 2026.
A total of 222 participants from 41 countries came together for a weekend dedicated to reconnecting with old friends and classmates, rediscovering CEU, and engaging with a diverse program of workshops and panel discussions. The Reunion highlighted the truly international nature of the CEU community and the bonds that continue long after graduation.
From Campus to the Spring Ball
The Reunion opened with campus tours and departmental gatherings, giving alumni an opportunity to visit the Quellenstraße Campus, reconnect with faculty and staff, and learn more about current developments across the university
Reconnecting Across Campus and Community
The celebrations then moved to the historic Sofiensäle for the Rector’s Reception and the Spring Ball, where alumni from different generations came together for an evening of conversation, music, and celebration.
Conversations, Ideas, and Community
On Saturday, despite foggy heads, alumni returned to campus for a full day of discussions, workshops, and interactive sessions led by faculty, staff, and fellow alumni. CEU’s Interim President and Rector Carsten Q. Schneider shared updates on the university’s future plans and ongoing developments, while participants engaged in conversations spanning academic, professional, and community topics.
Moments of Recognition
One of the most memorable moments of the weekend was the Recognition Ceremony honoring alumni who graduated during the COVID years and were unable to celebrate in person at the time. The ceremony offered a meaningful opportunity to formally welcome them into the alumni community and to celebrate an important milestone together.
Exploring Vienna Together
After a historic tram tour around Vienna, the weekend concluded with a final drinks reception where the photo booth was kept busy as alumni queued for pictures with Carsten and their peers and friends.
Thank you to everybody who supported the event and we can't wait to do it again soon!
