CEU Alumnus Stanislav Todorov Appointed Bulgarian Deputy Energy Minister

CEU alumnus Stanislav Todorov (LEGS ’07) was appointed in January as Deputy Minister of Energy of Bulgaria.  

Prior to his appointment Stanislav served as procurement manager at Visteon Corporation. Earlier in his career he held managerial positions with Bulgaria’s AES Maritza East 1 power plant, among others.  

CEU Alumna Inga Popovaite in Simulated Mars Mission

CEU Alumna and former Alumni Scholarship Recipient Inga Popovaite (NATI ’14, Lithuania) spent last autumn at the Mars Desert Research Station, in Utah, USA, as a researcher for the University of Iowa, on a simulated mission to the Red Planet. See full story.

Alumna Orsolya Réthelyi New ELTE BTK Deputy Dean

CEU alumna Orsolya Réthelyi (MEDS MA ‘00, PhD ’10, Hungary) has been named the new international deputy dean of the Faculty of Humanities at Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) in Budapest.  

Orsolya is an associate professor at ELTE and head of the university’s Department of Dutch Studies. Congratulations, Orsolya 

Alumnus Marek Havrda Appointed Czech Deputy Minister

CEU alumnus Marek Havrda (SOCI ’98) was appointed in January as the Czech Republic’s Deputy Minister for European Affairs. His work will focus on helping coordinate the country’s position on EU policies, and supporting its EU Presidency, which begins this July.  

Alumnus Jeton Mehmeti Elected to Kosovo Media Commission

The Parliament of Kosovo recently elected CEU alumnus Jeton Mehmeti (DPP ’09, Kosovo) to the country’s Independent Media Commission.  

Jeton was elected in January to the commission, a seven-member regulatory body responsible for licensing and monitoring broadcast media withing Kosovo.
