CEU alumna and research fellow  Dorottya Redai (GENS ‘03 MA, ‘16 PhD, Hungary) was named among TIME Magazine's 100 Most Influential People of 2021. The list recognizes the impact, innovation, and achievement of the world's most influential individuals of the year.

Prague CEU Alumni Gathering Largest in Years

CEU alumni and friends gathered in Prague on Sunday, September 12 for one of the largest informal alumni gatherings there in recent years. Hosted by CEU Vice President and alumnus Serge Sych (IRES ’97, LEGS ‘99) at the Kolkovna v Kolkovne restaurant, the meetup drew 25 alumni eager to reconnect with their friends and classmates. Alumnus Lala Elected to Kosovo Parliament

CEU alumnus Fridon Lala (SPP ’19, Kosovo) was recently elected as a Member of Parliament in Kosovo and has begun his four-year term. 

Elected during the country’s fifth election since independence, Fridon said his top priorities as an MP are to promote the rights and interests of vulnerable groups and youth. 

“I took the seat at the time when the country was hit hard by Covid 19, and in need of economic recovery,” he said. “Being elected at this young age enables me to bring new perspectives and solutions to Kosovo’s complex problems.” 

Alumna Jennifer Obado Joel Joins Hewlett Foundation’s Global Development Program

CEU alumna Jennifer Obado Joel (DPP ’13, Nigeria) recently joined the Hewlett Foundation’s Global Development and Population Program as a Program Fellow. A graduate of CEU and the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, she is currently a PhD candidate at the Security Studies Program, School of Security, Politics, and International Affairs, University of Central Florida.
