Viktor Mak (SPP '19, Hungary)

October 5, 2017

Viktor is studying at CEU this year, thanks to the CEU Alumni Scholarship.

In his own words:

Before CEU, I completed my undergraduate degree in Global Studies at New York State’s Colgate University, and worked in Washington, D.C. I dedicated my undergraduate degree to studying social entrepreneurship and its role in economic development, and I launched a fair trade clothing line based out of Guatemala. At CEU I hope to gain a broader understanding of sustainable and equitable growth promotion.

I enjoy long distance hiking and volunteering for various social causes including refugee resettlement and LGBTQ rights. Most recently, I hiked the Appalachian Trail and worked in Idaho at the International Refugee Committee’s Boise office.

I’m grateful that CEU has provided me the opportunity to return to Hungary after such a long time abroad. Specifically, I’d like to thank the alumni donors for providing me the financial means to attend. I look forward to engaging with the CEU community in an out of Budapest.

Check out Viktor's blog A Night of Trivia that describes CEU's first ever Pub Quiz which he co-organized.
