No Masking Devotion: Alumna Stands by CEU. Again.

This March, when Austria mandated the public wearing of face masks to fight Covid-19, alumna and Vienna resident Yan Schall (EMBA ’18, USA) became worried. Not least for local CEU students. 

“It looked like we would have to wear masks for a long time,” she said. “But you basically could no longer find them in the shops.” 

With quarantine imposed, CEU Vienna had shut its doors. But once campus reopened, Yan thought, students would need masks. Lots of them Yet masks were increasingly unavailable in the Austrian capital. 

So, Yan took action. 

Global Celebration: CEU’s First Online Alumni Reunion Draws Hundreds

Covid-19 may have put the world on hold, but it couldn’t stop CEU alumni from coming together for an amazing, first-of-its-kind Online Reunion this month. 

From May 9 to 25, hundreds of alumni and friends logged in from every corner of the globe for an innovative series of social, cultural and career events celebrating CEU and its inspirational global community.

What word would you choose to define your CEU experience?

That’s what dozens of alumni and students from around the world who joined the university’s first-ever Online Gala last Saturday were asked. And throughout the event, they didn’t hold back. 

From the straightforward to the conceptual – from “opportunity” to “blessing”, “friends” to “family” – attendees raised a glass and shared the one word or image that encapsulates their time at CEU.
