CEU Alumnus Galyan Passes

We are deeply saddened to report the passing of CEU alumnus Artak Galyan (POLS ’10, Armenia), who died on Tuesday after a prolonged illness. He was 35 years old.

In addition to earning his MA, Artak was a PhD candidate and teaching assistant with the CEU Department of Political Studies, where he forged many strong friendships with classmates and faculty. His career achievements included stints as a Fieldwork Coordinator with the Institute for Political and Sociological Consulting, and as an intern with the United Nations Development Program in Pristina, Kosovo, among others.

Alumnus Roosma Elected as Human Rights Judge

CEU alumnus Peeter Roosma (LEGS '97) was recently elected to the Parliamentary Assembly (PACE) of the Council of Europe as judge to the European Court of Human Rights in respect to Estonia. Congratulations, Peeter!

Students Give Back Via Graduating Class Gift

Students raised hundreds of dollars in support of CEU during last month’s 2019 Graduating Class Gift campaign.

Several dozen students contributed, including Alumni Scholarship Recipients like Samten Yeshi (MEDS ’19, Bhutan) [pictured, left] who generously gifted his entire student deposit – 200 Euros - to the drive.
