Three cities in three days: Provost meets with Central Asian alumni

CEU Provost and Pro-Rector Liviu Matei took advantage of his recent tour of Central Asia in October to meet with CEU alumni in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.

The provost met informally with alumni in Astana and Almaty, Kazakhstan, and Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, and delivered the latest CEU news, plus information about recruitment and the Alumni Campaign, ceu|next. 

They were three great evenings and great examples of the bond felt CEU alumni for their alma mater. Thanks to everyone who attended!

A new record has been set!

Alumnus Konstantin Kurganov (Ukraine, LEGS ’94) has made CEU history by donating $30,000 in matching funds to the Alumni Campaign, ceu|next.

Alumna Baar presented with 'excellence in teaching' award

Dr. Monika Baar (HIST ’96) was awarded the third annual European Award for Excellence in Teaching in the Social Sciences and Humanities last month.

A Rosalind Franklin Fellow and senior lecturer in modern history at the University of Gronigen in the Netherlands, Monika was presented the award during the commencement of CEU’s 24th Academic Year, in September.
