Top jazz players slated for May 25 Reunion Gala

Two internationally-renowned names in Hungarian Jazz will perform at the May 25 Reunion Gala Dinner in Budapest. Singer Bea Tisza will front the Gábor Cseke Trió for a split set of sultry live jazz, upbeat party music and rockaraoke favorites at the Kempinski Hotel Corvinus. 

Spring Phonathon Raises Thousands, Extends Deadline

Spring Phonathon 2013 is in full swing, reconnecting CEU alumni from all over the world with their alma mater. So far, we’ve reached more than 2,500 alumni, who have generously pledged nearly $6,000 to support the future of CEU. (See below for the top ten most generous alumni groups by country.)

Learning Philanthropy: CEU Community Helps Underprivileged Children in Budapest

When you think of doing philanthropy what comes to mind? Do you want to make a donation online, to instantly feel good about yourself, or do you prefer a more ‘hands on’ approach to actively helping those in need?

At the Alumni Relations and Career Services office we opted for the latter and launched a project allowing students to give back and experience the spirit of philanthropy and its long-lasting impact on their lives.

CEU Alumnus Edits 'Nonviolent History'

CEU alumnus Maciej Bartkowski (IRES ’01, ’06) is editor of “Recovering Nonviolent History: Civil Resistance in Liberation Struggles,” which was recently published by Lynne Rienner Publishers.

The book examines the little-known but powerful roles that civil resistance has played in national liberation struggles throughout history, in Europe, Asia, Africa, the Americas and elesewhere. 

CEU Calling! Spring Phonathon 2013 now underway

The CEU Alumni Relations and Career Services team is kicking off its annual Spring Phonathon campaign this week. Launched in preparation for the 2013 Alumni Reununion Weekend, the Phonathon is intended as a means of keeping in contact with CEU's alumni community.
