Natalia Mileszyk (LEGS '13) recently became the second recipient of CEU's BABSEA / CLE Legal Studies Human Rights award.

A graduate of the Human Rights LLM program, she was selected for both her high GPA and her work promoting clinical legal education in her native Poland. She was presented the award during the Academic Awards Ceremony on graduation day, June 13.

Founded by CEU alumnus Bruce Lasky (LEGS '03), BABSEA / CLE - short for "Bridges Across Borders Southeast Asia Community Legal Education Initiative" - is an international NGO focused on fighting injustice and inequity. The award, issued in the amount of $500, was established in 2011 to honor those legal masters students committed to working for justice and human rights. Last year it went to Ephrem Birhanu (LEGS '12).

In his letter to Natalia, Bruce encouraged her to continue fighting for greater equity for the world's marginalized, and to utilize the power of the CEU alumni network.

"CEU graduates," he wrote, "exist throughout the world and are astounding people like yourself."

Congratulations, Natalia!
