Hedvika is from the Czech Republic. She is studying at CEU thanks to the Alumni Scholarship, next|generation.
In her own words:
I graduated from Palacky University (in Olomouc, Czech Republic) with a BA in Political Science and European Studies. I chose this study as I saw the potential to make a difference in this field, and to actively engage with several initiatives and organizations.
For example, I served as a youth ambassador with the Football for Development campaign, which utilizes sports to raise awareness about global issues and facilitate engagement with civil society. Previously, my friends and I organized the Europe at School project to promote active citizenship during times of austerity.
Having expanded my horizons, I’ve decided to specialize in Gender and Politics at CEU, which will allow me to connect academic development with my commitment to community service—thus helping me accomplish my goals in the non-profit sector and to help overcome organizing obstacles in Central and Eastern Europe.
I am truly honored to receive the Alumni Scholarship, and feel encouraged to share and implement my project ideas with the CEU community.
