An exciting group of CEU movers and shakers made this year’s Alumni Happy Hour in Washington D.C. a night to remember.
Nearly 30 alumni and friends from the D.C. area and abroad come together for the fun, informal mixer on Wednesday, March 14 at the Mission Restaurant and bar in the U.S. capital’s DuPont Circle district. The event was hosted by Serge Sych (IRES '97, LEGS '99), CEU's Vice President for Enrollment, Careers and Alumni Relations, visiting from Budapest.
Guests included the alumni, both locals and expats, doing meaningful work with organizations such as the U.S. Department of State, as well as Human Rights International, the Russian civil rights organizations Memorial, and many others. (See below for more photos.)
Coincidentally, Georgian President (and former CEU student) Giorgi Margvelashvili (SOCI ’94), was also in town that night and appeared at a nearby engagement, which some happy hour guests were able to attend. CEU grads are truly everywhere!
The gathering was also a good primer for this possibly attending this May’s Alumni Reunion in Budapest, and an opportunity for alums to give in support of CEU students and departments via the Alumni Campaign. Thanks to those who pledged, and thanks to everyone who showed up and made it a great night!
