Celebrating CEU President and Rector John Shattuck

This August John Shattuck will conclude his seven-year term and step down as CEU president and rector. He will succeeded by Canadian politician and author Michael Ignatieff.

President Shattuck has distinguished himself as a dedicated, enthusiastic leader of CEU and its global community, as well as a career diplomat and champion of peace and human rights.

Under his tenure CEU has broken ground on a new campus, launched the School of Public Policy, seen increases in new student recruitment and fundraising and much more.

CEU Alumni Relations and Career Services Among 'Top Performer' Programs in Europe

The CEU Alumni Relations and Career Services (ARCS) office was named a 'top performer' in volunteer engagement, events participation and alumni fundraising, based on results of a recent survey administered by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).

CEU received high marks in the International CASE Alumni Relations Survey (ICARS), among nearly 80 major universities in the UK, continental Europe and beyond.

CEU’s Campus Redevelopment Wins Best Planned Project Award

The first phase of CEU's campus redevelopment project, scheduled for completion this summer, was awarded the Planned Project of the Year 2015 in the "Ev Irodaja" (Office of the Year) competition run by Hungarian real estate media group iroda.hu. The winners were announced and awards presented at a gala Feb. 11 at the Museum of Applied Arts in Budapest. See full story.

Strong Finish To Matching Gift Campaign

What a bunch of overachievers!

That’s one way to describe CEU’s amazing alumni donors, who just raised more than $60,000 in support of their University via the Blum Matching Gift Challenge.  Launched last autumn, the campaign’s original goal was $50,000. (See? Overachievers.)

Alumni made more than 140 individual contributions to the campaign, which closed last week, raising a total of $60,148.
