CEU Alumni: the Stand Continues

CEU alumni and friends in Budapest and beyond continue to say #istandwithCEU in opposition to the Hungarian government's attempts to shut it down.

Alumni were among those attending a thousands-strong grassroots demonstration—the second in Budapest less than a week—that occurred outside campus on Tuesday in opposition to legislation targeting CEU.

Alumni Take Action in Budapest, Beyond to Save CEU

CEU alumni in Budapest and around the world have taken action in defense of their University, which is currently being targeted by legislation that could drive it from Hungary. (See photos below.)

On Sunday, April 3 alumni in Budapest were among the approximately 10,000 people who joined in a grassroots march to the Hungarian Parliament demanding academic freedom for CEU and throughout Hungary.

Alumna Pillar Named 2016 "CEO of the Year"

CEU Business School alumna Eva Pillar (MBA, '14) was awarded the prestigious "Women Energy CEO of the Year" award at last winter's Budapest Energy Summit in December, 2016. Eva serves as the Energy Sourcing Director at Hungarian energy company E2.

Big Turnout for NYC Alumni Reception with President Ignatieff

CEU’s alumni chapter in New York City has done it again!

Nearly 60 alumni and friends attended the annual CEU Alumni Reception in NYC on Thursday, March 16 at the Hungarian Consulate in Manhattan. (See photos below.)

The reception featured CEU President and Rector Michael Ignatieff, who thanked alumni for their efforts promoting the university and serving as volunteers, mentors and campaign donors.

CEU Happy Hour in D.C. Bigger than Ever

This year’s CEU Alumni Happy Hour in Washington D.C. was bigger than ever!

Nearly 40 alumni and friends from the D.C. area came together on Friday, March 17 for the lively annual gathering, this time at the Mission Restaurant in the capitol’s DuPont Circle neighborhood (See photos below!)

Hosted by Serge Sych (IRES '97, LEGS '99), CEU's Vice President for Enrollment, Careers and Alumni Relations visiting from Budapest, the event was a great opportunity for old friends and classmates to reconnect.
