Alumnus Adam Bodnar new Polish Ombudsman

CEU alumnus Adam Bodnar (LEGS ’01) was recently elected Ombudsman by a vote of the Polish Parliament.

 According to Polska Newsweek, he will serve as “the vanguard of change, warn politicians against potential risks to individual rights, and criticize when they take actions that threaten them.”

Alumni advise new students at Pre-Departure Orientations

Academic Year 2015-16 is weeks away and CEU alumni around the world are meeting with and advising newly-accepted students preparing to leave for Budapest.

Are you?

Approximately 20 alumni chapters worldwide, in collaboration with Local Area Coordinators, are hosting Pre-Departure Orientation (PDO) meetings this summer for new CEU students.

PDOs bring together alumni and new students, allowing students to ask questions and seek advice from alumni like you about study at CEU and life in Budapest. Many PDOs include a social hour during or after the session. 

‘Carve a Space’ Alumna Speaker Advises Graduates

CEU alumna Magdalena Majkowska-Tomkin (IRES ’00) had choice words for graduates during CEU’s June 21 graduation ceremony in Budapest.

“You have to go out there and carve a space for yourself,” she told the audience. “As long as you know your foundation and your direction, you will succeed.”

Second 'CEU Alumni Talks' Conference in Zagreb

On Friday, June 12 more than 20 CEU grads, friends and prospective students met in Zagreb for the second installment of the CEU Alumni Talks initiative. (See photos.) 

CEU Alumni Campaign Nears Anniversary Goal

As of June, alumni have contributed more than $800,000 to the CEU Alumni Campaign, ceu|next. They now have less than $200,000 to go to reach the campaign goal of raising $1 million by the university's 25th anniversary next year.
