CEU Alumna Borbala Czako Pledges to Donate 1,000 USD to CEU at 2012 Reunion Gala

At the annual Alumni Reunion Gala, which took place on May 12, 2012 at Hilton Buda Castle Hotel, CEU alumna and recipient of the 20th Anniversary Alumni Hero award, Borbála Czako (IMC 1990), spontaneously stood up to make a leadership pledge of 1,000 USD to the university in support of student scholarships. 

2012 Alumni Reunion Gala & Weekend Photos Now Online

Over 230 alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends attended the May 12, 2012 Alumni Reunion Gala at the Hilton Buda Castle Hotel, which featured a keynote address by President and Rector John Shattuck, an interactive game, class awards, a professional photo shoot, and rockaoke (singalong karaoke with a live band). The classes of 1994 and 1998 were recognized as the most generous in the 2011 20th anniversary alumni campaign, having contributed $21,388 and $26,034 respectively. The class of 2010 was recognized as the "Most Active Class of 2011.”

Alumni in Kazakhstan Greenify the Roads of Astana

Inspired by the "green" sustainability theme of the 2012 "Baobab Leaves" Alumni Campaign, alumni volunteers in the CEU Alumni Chapter in Kazakhstan took the initiative to organize a number of truly impacting grassroots projects designed to help their local environment and make a positive contribution to their community.

The second project in this initiative was a fun and refreshing way to get out on the road and greenify the Kazakh highways by planting trees along Turan motorway (проспект Туран) just outside of Astana on April 21, 2012.

Alumni Scholarship Recipients Raise Over 80,000 HUF for Budapest's Homeless in the "Tea for the Homeless" Campaign

In March 2012, current and former recipients of the Alumni Scholarship followed up their Blanket Drive for the Homeless initiative with an equally successful fundraising campaign, aiming to provide hot tea to Budapest's homeless in the cold winter season.
